Redeemer

For those not in the RUC loop - Friday around 11am a squirrel met with the hydro transformer for the campus, they fought and both lost. The squirrel died and so did the power. A new transformer had to be brought in and installed. This involved a complete evacuation of the academic building. Then because of pilot lights, gas leaks and other resulting things the entirety of the on-campus population had to be shipped off to two hotels until such time that the dorms are safe to live in, and power has been restored.

There are a lot of things to pray for here - the entire situation is a logistical nightmare. You can imagine the choices and planning having to be made by the front office, RAs and HAs trying to find their students on a Friday afternoon without the use of phones, Student Life staff making sure that everyone gets settled in their hotel and that they represent Redeemer well, and all the students that have been displaced during one the busiest times of the school year. I'm sure there is more, but these are some good places to start.
